Rihanna named America’s youngest self-made billionaire woman with $1.4 billion net worth

 


Rihanna, the singer and entrepreneur, has been named to Forbes' annual list of billionaires. While other celebrities made their debuts by walking the Oscars red carpet, the young self-made billionaire woman made her debut on the list of billionaires.

Rihanna was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She did not grow up in one of America's affluent neighborhoods. Instead, she worked hard for her current position in music and business.

For the third time, the Fenty Beauty CEO made Forbes' annual list of America's richest sales-made women. While she is the only billionaire under the age of 40, she is also ranked 21st on the list.

Her three fashion retail companies, Fenty Skin, Fenty Beauty, and Savage X Fenty, contributed the majority of her fortune. Although a portion of her $1.4 billion net worth stems from her successful singing career.

Her cosmetics line Fenty, which debuted in 2017, is expected to earn more than $550 million by 2020. This is also according to Forbes. The record-breaking availability of 40 shades for various skin colors and tones is the secret to Fenty's success. Fenty caters to almost every skin tone and color.

Shannon Coyle, Bluestock Advisors' co-founder of consumer products, stated, "She was one of the first brands to come out and say, 'I want to speak to all of those different people.'"

Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, Savage X Fenty was in talks with advisors about a $3 billion IPO. The brand generated $1 billion in revenue in February 2021. Furthermore, the 34-year-old singer owns 30% of the company.

Rihanna's commercial ventures

Rihanna also has a stake in Fenty Beauty. While the other half of Fenty Beauty is owned by the French luxury fashion conglomerate LVMH. However, Fenty's clothing line with LVMH was not successful enough, and it was closed down last year.

In addition, Forbes magazine previously named Rihanna the world's most successful beauty entrepreneur and richest female singer. This is followed by the magazine's announcement of her billionaire status.

Despite her success, Rihanna has stated that she is not interested in achievements or valuations. Rihanna stated in an interview with The New York Times that she never intended to achieve financial success or make a fortune. She stated that these reasons will "not prevent me from working."

Kim Kardashian, 41, is the next youngest billionaire on the Forbes list, with a net worth of $1.8 billion. Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian's younger sister, is the list's youngest non-billionaire, with a net worth of $600 million.

According to DBS, the peso has depreciated the most among the currencies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' six largest economies year to date (Asean).

According to the Singapore-based bank, the peso has lost nearly 8% of its value against the dollar since the beginning of 2022, the most when compared to the Thai baht, Malaysian ringgit, Indonesian rupiah, and Singapore dollar.

Mode of combating inflation
DBS stated in a commentary that because the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is "firmly on an inflation combat mode," the Monetary Board may consider policy rate hikes of 50 basis points (bps) in a single meeting, as opposed to the two previous hikes of only 25 bps.

"The BSP raised rates by a total of 175 basis points in five meetings during the 2018 cycle, with two 50 basis point hikes to quell inflation," DBS said, referring to a similar period when the peso was falling.

The bank said it was not ruling out raising BSP rates by 50 basis points in a single policy meeting, especially if the peso's depreciation fuels further inflation.

"The fact that the Philippine peso is depreciating at its fastest rate in about five years adds further upside pressures to imported inflation," DBS said.

This meant that higher import input prices were driving up the prices of locally produced goods. The depreciation of the local currency is one possible source of imported inflation.

NEW YORK (AP) — Actress Lindsay Lohan will celebrate her 36th birthday as a married woman on Saturday.

In an Instagram post Friday, the "Freaky Friday" star said she was the "luckiest woman in the world" with financier Bader Shammas, who had been her fiance.

"I am stunned that you are my husband," Lohan wrote in the post, adding that "every woman should feel like this on a daily basis."

Last November, the couple announced their engagement. People magazine and Entertainment Tonight confirmed the wedding, but provided no further details.

When she was still single a few years ago, Lohan told Entertainment Tonight that she was looking for "a smart businessman" who doesn't mind being in the spotlight. Shammas has a private Instagram account.

The "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" actress and occasional singer has recently worked through some sobriety issues, and she recently filmed a romantic comedy that will be released on Netflix later this year.

76 million-year-old dinosaur skeleton to be auctioned in NYC

NEW YORK (AP) — A T. rex skeleton has been discovered. Sotheby's announced Tuesday that a T. rex relative that roamed the earth about 76 million years ago will be auctioned off in New York this month.

The Gorgosaurus skeleton will be the centerpiece of Sotheby's natural history auction on July 28, according to the auction house.

During the late Cretaceous Period, the Gorgosaurus was an apex carnivore that lived in what is now the western United States and Canada. It was 10 million years older than the Tyrannosaurus rex.

According to Sotheby's, the specimen being auctioned was discovered in the Judith River Formation near Havre, Montana, in 2018. It stands nearly 10 feet (3 meters) tall and 22 feet (6.7 meters) long.

According to the auction house, all of the other known Gorgosaurus skeletons are in museum collections, making this the only specimen available for private ownership.

"In my career, I've had the privilege of handling and selling many exceptional and unique objects, but few have the capacity to inspire wonder and capture imaginations quite like this incredible Gorgosaurus skeleton," Sotheby's global head of science and popular culture Cassandra Hatton said.

The fossil's presale estimate at Sotheby's is $5 million to $8 million.

I've always wanted to change the world since I was a kid, but I had no idea how, let alone what I wanted to do with my life.

So I experimented with different things: I studied abroad, worked at Google, backpacked for extended periods of time, and launched my own online business. I kept looking outward, never truly feeling content or at peace, until I came across these words by Rumi, a 13th-century poet:

"I was clever yesterday, so I wanted to change the world." "Now that I am wise, I am changing myself."

That's when I realized that all of the change I'm looking for in my life starts with me. And all of the change you seek in your life begins with you. Change the inside, and the outside will follow.

The truth is that you are capable of creating whatever you want, but you are the obstacle between where you are and where you want to be. You, not time, money, or circumstances. And do you understand why? It's because you're your own worst enemy.

The sooner you realize this, the better, and the sooner you accept, the sooner you'll want to figure out how to change. And once again, Rumi's wise words chime in and ring true: "Yesterday you were clever, so you wanted to change the world." You are wise today, so you are changing yourself

Here are 35 life lessons you should learn as a child. Read them, think about them, and put them to use. And, as you do so, keep in mind that change takes time, so give yourself as much time as you need to grow.


1. In an instant, your entire life can change. So, instead of passively taking what you have for granted, be grateful for it and use it for good.

2. It's okay to feel lost from time to time; the truth is that you owe nothing to your younger self and everything to your current self.

3. Because action produces more clarity than thought, you cannot think your way into a new life; you must act your way into one.

It can be both amazing and emotional to hear a band for the first time. I say emotional because a song, let alone a band, can touch you in ways that nothing else can. They sing words that relate to your thoughts and to you as a person.

Sometimes you can't explain to someone what a song means to you. Perhaps the entire album has a way of connecting with you, and you think to yourself that you can't wait to see them live. There are numerous occasions when fans of a band are unable to see them live. This is extremely unfortunate for some, because no matter how much they think they love them, they will love them even more after seeing them perform all of their favorite songs live.

I've been to over 100 concerts in my life and can say there have been some pretty amazing ones. But the most memorable band is the one you've been wanting to see for a long time but haven't yet seen. This experience can change your life in ways you may not be able to describe. When I say that, some people may think I'm being dramatic, but when people have passions, they express themselves in ways that sound meaningful to them. For me, it's music and seeing bands perform live.

Seeing Blink-182 changed my life. I've admired them since I was 14, and I've wanted to see them for as long as I can remember. After years of listening to them and wishing to see them, I imagined the day when I would be able to and how I would feel. I wanted to see them perform all of my favorite songs and have the same feeling I get when I see other bands, but this would be ten times more emotional.

I cried because something hit me when they came out on stage and I wasn't sure what to think or feel with excitement. I knew what was going on, but it was difficult not to scream. As they played the first song, which I knew all the words to, it began my unforgettable experience. Hearing all of my favorite songs sung by thousands of people.

There's something special about being in a crowd and being able to sense the energy in a room. Sometimes the experience is an adrenaline rush like no other, and it gives the impression of being lost in another world. There is something unique about a festival that allows all elements to be brought together with thousands of people. Nothing can keep you from joining the massive crowd, rain or shine.

If you were standing in a crowd with your eyes closed, listening to one of your favorite songs being performed by a band. Something is sent through your body, right through you from your ears to your toes, as the floor shakes from the vibrating sound. You get pushed around and still take the best photos. Nothing compares to the number of memories created by a single event.

I hope that music fans can get the experience they deserve by seeing their favorite bands live. They must be able to connect with them by having them perform in front of them. Nothing else can compare to that feeling when you start going and there is nothing holding you back. Purchasing tickets to the best shows is an addiction, but there is nothing bad about it other than the excitement of counting down the days until the show.
