The UK's first LGBTQ+ museum is set to open in London, with exhibits ranging from "old lesbian feminist warhorses to young queer folk of all genders."

The museum, founded by Queer Britain, will be "dedicated to exploring LGBTQ+ histories, people, and ideas."
The museum's mission is to be "an essential place for all, regardless of sexuality or gender identity, to learn about the culture they were born into, chose, or seek to understand."
Queer Britain's museum has been looking for a physical home for some time and has finally found one in the heart of central London.
The museum will be housed in a historic building owned by the charity Art Fund and will be located in Granary Square.

Joseph Galliano, the director and co-founder of Queer Britain, said he is "delighted" to have found a location for the museum.
"It's past time for the UK to have an LGBTQ+ museum for all," he said.
"I'm really excited that Queer Britain will finally have a space to show what we can do and that we're here for everyone in the community, from old lesbian feminist warhorses like me to young queer folk of all genders and ethnicities," Queer Britain trustee Lisa Power said.
"Queer Britain aims to tell our many and diverse histories, and we now have a home to do so," she added.
Anjum Mouj, a trustee, also stated "The United Kingdom is finally getting the LGBTQ+ museum it deserves, one that will reflect and celebrate all of our vibrant and diverse communities, regardless of their sexualities, gender identities, backgrounds, ability, or heritage.

The new museum will open in the spring of 2022.
